Preguntas frecuentes

Con luggage son habituales check in your luggage, collect your luggage y lost luggage.

book accommodationreservar alojamientoWe booked accommodation near the station.
miss a connectionperder una conexiónWe missed our connection because the first train was delayed.
go through securitypasar el control de seguridadAllow extra time to go through security.
claim your baggagerecoger o reclamar el equipajeYou can claim your baggage in hall B.

Para confirmar una reserva, pregunta Is the booking under García? o Could you check my reservation?. Si surge una incidencia, explica primero qué ocurrió y después qué necesitas: My suitcase has not arrived. Where should I report it?

Mini diálogo al perder una conexión

Passenger: My flight was delayed and I missed my connection to Dublin.

Agent: I can put you on the next available flight. Do you have checked luggage?

Agente: Puedo asignarte el siguiente vuelo disponible. ¿Has facturado equipaje?

Aprender solo el sustantivo airport o train no basta si después dudas entre arrive to, arrive at o get to.

ConstrucciónUsoEjemplo
arrive at + lugar concretoAeropuerto, estación, hotel, puertaWe arrived at the station at 8:15.
arrive in + ciudad/paísDestinos geográficos ampliosThey arrived in Lisbon on Friday.
get to + lugarForma cotidiana de “llegar a”How do I get to Terminal 2?
reach + lugarNo lleva toWe reached the hotel before midnight.
catch / miss + transporteTomar a tiempo o perderloWe missed the last train.

Con vehículos también cambia la expresión: normalmente get on/off a bus, train o plane, pero get in/out of a car o taxi.
